Steve Howard
Steve Howard understands the problems facing the HVAC industry today. His books, articles, audio tapes, seminars and in-field consulting have earned him a reputation as one of the best known opinion leaders in the HVAC industry. His knowledge and insight comes from over 40 years of frontline experience and extensive research.
His background includes positions as a service technician, service manager for a large Trane franchise, marketing representative for the Carrier Corporation, sales engineer with Natkin Service Company, vice president of an engineering firm specializing in energy issues and a technical and business consultant. Steve earned an HVAC contractor's license in 1973.
Steve wrote the first in-depth book covering all aspects of HVAC service agreements, Service Agreement Dynamics. He is also the author of $ecrets to $elling $ervice, 50 Low Cost Ways to Acquire New Customers, Boomer Selling and over 250 magazine articles and special reports. Since 1988, he has written a monthly column for the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration News entitled "Profitable Service in the New Economy".
Steve has presented 1000's of seminars and workshops for clients throughout North America. His audiences enjoy his common sense approach, entertaining style and the vast amount of useful information that is presented. He has presented no-pressure value-added sales training programs to clients from Adelaide, South Australia to Cape Town, South Africa. For over a quarter of a century he has been president of The ACT Group, Inc. a training and consulting firm located in Phoenix, AZ.
